Brief description:
Arranged in the historical and chronological order, the
exposition of the museum acquaints with the history of the
development of Azerbaijan literature from the ancient time
up to the present day. Displayed in 26 halls of the museum,
different exhibits by visual demonstration acquaint visitors
with the Azerbaijan literature and folklore as well as
creative work of the renowned Azerbaijan poets and writers -
Khagani, Nizami, Fizuli, Vagif, M.F. Akhundov, G.
Mamedkulizadeh, M.A. Sabir, G. Gabbarli, S. Vurgun. Such
valuable exhibits as unique manuscripts of Azerbaijan and
Eastern poets, philologists, scientists, wonderful miniature
illustrations to the classics' works, autographs of the
distinguished writers, rare books, modern editions of
Azerbaijani writers' works and scientific works in European
and Eastern languages, personal writers' belongings,
photographs, interesting examples of national art,
numismatic collection of coins, ancient carpets, ceramics
are displayed in the museum.
The Garabakh Branch of the Museum stopped its work after
Shusha was occupied by Armenian military forces in 1992. |
