Brief description:
Museum is placed in the house, where the most
celebrated cellist and the legend of the world
music M.L.Rostropovich was born and spent all
his childhood. Displayed in the museum
exposition, the collected unique photos reflect
periods of the maestro's childhood, youth and
blossoming of creative work. The exposition is
divided into two parts, in one of which the
atmosphere and furniture of the Rostropovichs'
house have been reconstructed. The second part
of the exposition covers the most essential
pages of life and creative work of M. L.
Rostropovich as well as his creative and
friendly relations with Baku. Among the exhibits
there is a manuscript of L. V. Rostropovich's
letter to his son, which is considered to be his
last will. The museum houses a large collection
of photographs, programmes, bills, autographs of
all his concerts, personal belongings and awards.
There are audio and videocassettes with films
about the maestro and his concerts as well.
