Brief description:
The scientific fund of the museum consists of
artifacts reflecting religious ideas of
primitive people, examples of painting,
sculpture and graphic arts related to Buddhism,
Judaism, Christianity and Islam and various
documentary materials (photographs, books,
manuscripts, newspapers, magazines, etc.). Among
the buddhistic exhibits, there is the small cast
statue of Buddha decorated with different
stones. Judaism is represented by the copies of
Talmud, Tanakh published at the beginning of the
19th century as well as by different things of
the synagogue interior. There are originally
designed copies of Gospel and Bible, Orthodox
icons and clothes of priests. A great number of
things related to Islam are kept in the museum:
manuscripts and copies of "Koran" and "Comments
to Koran", religious works of the Azerbaijan
artists, different ritual things and
photographs. |
